Rockin' Our Achievements, Grooving into the Holidays, and Tuning Up for 2024

As we near the end of this eventful year, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible journey we've been on together. Your trust and collaboration have made this year a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

Reflecting on Our Wins: Working alongside each of you has been nothing short of fantastic! From revamping teaching methods to witnessing classrooms brim with enthusiasm, our joint efforts have led to some amazing achievements. Thank you for the amazing feedback!

I can not wait to continue on the journey and I am working my way through your requests and emails before the year ends (but it may be 2024 before you hear from me, thank you for your patience).

I have some exciting new courses, training and online support available (recorded sessions will be launched in January).

Prior to this here are some top tips for you all, around harnessing technology and AI to cut workload, raise engagement and make a difference to all (p.s. don't forget that artificial intelligence needs us to teach it what we want it to do!).

My top tips are-

  1. Define Your Goals: Clearly outline what you aim to achieve with AI.

  2. Understand the Technology: Take time to comprehend the capabilities and limitations of AI technologies you're using.

  3. Choose the Right Tools: Select AI tools or platforms that align with your specific needs and objectives (ask it which one to use!)

  4. Remember Data Quality Matters: AI heavily relies on data. Ensure the data you feed into AI systems is accurate, relevant, and of high quality.

  5. Train and Fine-tune AI: AI models often require training or fine-tuning.

  6. Be aware of Security and Privacy: Be mindful of security and privacy concerns when using AI.

  7. Don't Forget to Experiment and Learn: Learn from successes and failures, and continuously adapt your approach.

  8. Remember to Consider Ethical Use: Consider the ethical implications of AI. Ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI systems, avoiding biases and promoting ethical use.

Holiday Support for Literacy Development Using Technology

  1. Create Engaging Writing Opportunities (check out the links from the amazing Call Scotland (click on the image above))

  2. Create Phonically Decodable Jokes and Sentences: Collaborate with ChatGPT to generate phonetically decodable jokes, sentences, or short stories, fostering reading practice and enjoyment.

  3. Create Interactive Learning Activities: Use AI to craft activities that boost literacy skills, such as creating word collages, create engaging quizzes, playing word games, or engaging in storytelling sessions. These activities make learning enjoyable and reinforce literacy concepts or interactive exercises to reinforce learning.

  4. Write Your Own Phonics-Based Books: Work with ChatGPT to develop phonics-based books or passages tailored to students' phonics levels, encouraging independent reading and application of learned phonetic principles.

  5. Create your own Social Media Reels, Podcasts- use AI to write the script or the post!Check out some of my favourites from Christian Foley https://youtube.com/shorts/4yDZGjk_iSE?si=RFJoiyK2qgVQycl_

Looking Ahead to 2024: Let's embrace the new year with enthusiasm!
